Barista / Cashier / Café Team Member

$16/hour + Tips | Potential $22–$26+ Total Hourly Earnings
Full-Time & Part-Time | Spanish Required

Las Chicas Bakery & Café is looking for friendly, energetic, and dependable people to join our team.

We're a family-owned bakery and café that's been part of the Northern New Jersey community since 2004. Our cafés bring together specialty coffee, breakfast and brunch, empanadas, sandwiches, pastries, desserts, and plenty of regular customers who know us by name.

We're looking for people who can help us make every visit feel welcoming, efficient, and memorable.

What Your Day Looks Like

No two shifts are exactly the same. You'll be part of the team that keeps the café moving.

You'll:

• Welcome customers and help them with their orders
• Take orders and operate the POS/register
• Prepare espresso drinks, lattes, coffees, teas, and iced beverages
• Package pastries, desserts, empanadas, sandwiches, and takeout orders
• Coordinate with the kitchen to make sure orders are accurate and moving quickly
• Handle dine-in, pickup, takeout, and delivery orders
• Keep the coffee and counter areas stocked, clean, and organized
• Jump in and help your teammates when things get busy

And yes — it gets busy!

Spanish is required. You should be comfortable communicating with Spanish-speaking customers and coworkers.

Previous barista, café, bakery, restaurant, cashier, or customer-service experience is a plus, but we're happy to train the right person.

Pay + Tips

Starting base pay: $16.00/hour

PLUS TIPS

Tips can add approximately $6–$10+ per hour , depending on the shift, customer volume, weather, season, and other factors.

That means total hourly earnings can reach approximately $22–$26+ per hour during stronger tip periods.

Tips vary and are not guaranteed.

Strong team members may also have opportunities for increased responsibility, advancement, and higher pay.

Your Schedule

We're hiring for full-time and part-time positions .

Flexible availability is preferred, and weekend and holiday availability is important since those are some of our busiest days.
